A very warm welcome to all visiting our brand new website, launched on 26.11.08. We aim to tell you everything we can about ourselves on our new site.
To do this, and not bore people rigid, we have kept our work - mainly visual, and about - mainly words, very much as separate entities, but bridged by news or topical information. This way our standards and environmental commitments, for instance, are available for those who wish to know about them, and nicely out of the way for those who may not.
Built to our usual high standards, we have adopted many new (and as yet not even fully released) technologies to reinforce our tradition of adopting the newest exciting software as early as we can. It also signifies a drastic evolution to our development environment, making huge improvements to our technology stack and procedure for our architecture of software.
Unfortunately, not all of this translates from geeky to English well, but we’ve picked out some highlights that you can see at the tip of iceberg.
1. Clear and accurate URLs throughout our site, so that these are easier to read for search engines, and even you.
2. Unobtrusive implementation of ‘Ajax’, this powers our animating scrolling and inline search, without damaging search engines’ ability to read our site, and allows consistent access on the least capable platforms.
3. Full use of our very own data previewing framework, this is currently automating the media/image generation for news and projects.
4. Persistence agnostic implementation of full text search, this massively improves the ability to search our site for information you want.
